Latexkol

Product catalog summary
Description: Latexkol is a synthetic, highly elastic latex in aqueous dispersion based on acrylic polymers, designed for use with cementitious adhesives. It is suitable for both interior and exterior applications, including underfloor heating, and has a low volatile organic compound (VOC) emission rate, compliant with class A+ French regulations.
Advantages/Features: The product is characterized by its low VOC emission, suitability for heating screeds, and its plastic and fluid mix properties.
Packaging: Available in 5 kg, 10 kg, and 20 kg cans, with standard pallet weights of 600 kg and 720 kg.
Intended Use: Latexkol is used as a liquid additive with cementitious adhesives in class C1, partially or totally replacing water to enhance deformability and performance for intense applications.
Mix Ratio: Specific ratios are provided for different adhesive classes (C1, C2 S1, C2 S2) with detailed instructions on the amount of Latexkol and water required.
Preparing the Mix: Instructions include pouring the correct liquid amount into a container, adding powder while stirring, and ensuring a consistent mix without lumps. The mix should rest for 5 minutes before a brief remix.
Application: The mix is spread onto the substrate with a trowel, ensuring 65-70% back coverage for interiors and 100% for exteriors. The open time is approximately 10 minutes, varying with temperature and humidity.
Grouting: Joints can be grouted after 6-8 hours for walls and 24 hours for floors, using various grouting products depending on the required mechanical and chemical resistance.
Limitations: Application temperatures should be between 40°F and 90°F. Substrates must be sound, stable, dry, and clean. The product should not be used outside the stated applications and must be protected from frost.
Safety Information: A safety data sheet is available upon request.
Performance: Complies with EN 12004 – ISO 13007 C2 S2 standards, with specific tensile adhesion strengths and resistance properties detailed.
Notes: Data is based on specific conditions and may vary. Users should perform spot tests to ensure suitability for intended use.

Latexkol ELASTICIZING SYNTHETIC LATEX FOR CEMENTITIOUS ADHESIVES. SUITABLE FOR UNDERFLOOR HEATING. FOR INTERIORS AND EXTERIORS. PRODUCT WITH LOW VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUND EMISSION RATE. Synthetic, highly elastic latex in aqueous dispersion based on acrylic polymers. ADVANTAGES / FEATURES • Product with very low volatile organic compound (VOC) emission rate, compliant with class A+ (Émission dans l’air intérieur – French Regulations) • Suitable for installation on heating screeds • Plastic and fluid mix 5 kg (11lb) cans - 600 kg (1,322.7lb) standard pallet 10 kg (22lb) (cans - 600 kg (1,322.7lb) standard pallet 20 kg (44lb) cans - 720 kg (1,587.3lb) standard pallet Liquid additive to be mixed with cementitious adhesives in class C1 (see Litokol K17/K18 data sheet) in partial or total replacement of water. Use of the additive gives the adhesive high deformability and improves its performance, making it suitable for more intense applications (see synoptic table). Adhesives C1 44lb (20 kg) (1 bag) Litokol K17 4.8 l (1.27US gal lqd) of water 44lb (20 kg) (1 bag) Litokol K18 4.8 l (1.27US gal lqd) of water Pour the right quantity of liquid, depending on the application, into a clean container and slowly add the powder, stirring with an electric drill with mixing paddle until a consistent mix is obtained without lumps. Let the mix rest for about 5 minutes and then briefly mix again for a few seconds. Do not add more liquid to the mix once setting has begun. Hand mixing is not recommended. Spread the mix onto the substrate using the smooth part of the trowel to create a layer approximately 1 mm thick (0.039in). Immediately afterwards, apply the product using the notched part of the trowel. The trowel notch size will depend on the size of the tiles. A back coverage of 65-70% of slabs is nonetheless required for interior installations, and 100% of slabs for exterior installations or floors subject to heavy traffic. In exterior installations or areas subject to high stress, the adhesive should also be applied to the back of the slabs (back-buttering method). The tiles must be laid on the adhesive when fresh, firmly pressed to ensure good contact. The product's open time in normal temperature and humidity conditions is approximately 10 minutes. High temperatures will shorten it, low temperatures will lengthen it. Very warm or windy climates, or particularly absorbent substrates may drastically reduce it to a few minutes. It is therefore recommended to regularly check that the adhesive has not skinned over. If it has skinned over, the adhesive will need to be combed again using the notched trowel. The tiles must be installed with joint widths suitable for their size. Special Products C2 S1 3.17 qls. (3.0 l)of water + 6.6lb (3.o kg) of Latexkol 3.17 qls. Take account of any expansion, perimeter, divider or structural joints. Leave a space of at least 1/5" (5 mm) near walls or any surface elevations. The tiled surface must be protected for at least 24 hours against any rain wash, and for approximately 5-7 days against any frost and direct sunlight. Joints can be grouted after approximately 6-8 hours in the case of wall tiles and after 24 hours in the case of floor tiles. For grouting, it is possible to use the cementitious grouts Stylegrout 0-8, Stylegrout 3-20, Stylegrout Tech or the ready-to-use polymer mortar FillGood EVO, or, for grouting...
