Suitable Uses ® Sumatec extruded earth blocks are unfired blocks and as such should not be used as an external wall, but are ideal as an internal leaf of certain exterior walls or as an internal partition walls, especially where there is a requirement for a good acoustic wall with high thermal mass. ® Sumatec blocks can help inhibit condensation and regulate the relative humidity of the internal atmosphere. 3. Composition Unfired clay blocks have excellent sustainability credentials – low energy input, very low waste and high ® recyclability. Sumatec is manufactured in the UK. 4. Performance ® Sumatec extruded earth blocks have been developed to combine good compressive strength and high thermal mass with good acoustic and fire properties. 6. Packing ® Sumatec extruded earth blocks are delivered 128 no blocks per pallet. 7. Storage ® Sumatec extruded earth blocks should be stored in the dry on the delivery pallet and ventilated to avoid condensation. On site, stacking should normally be restricted to two pallets high. 8. Quality Assurance The product undergoes in-house monitoring using a quality management system which conforms to the current international standard EN ISO 9001 and the environment standard EN ISO 14001. 9.
