Product catalog summary
Metal Furniture Overview
Lambert's metal furniture is inspired by traditional hand-forged iron pieces reminiscent of those found in southern France. The collection features both naturally rusted and painted iron options, with colors like semi-gloss black and warm dark brown, chosen for their timeless appeal.
Workmanship
Lambert is among the few manufacturers producing furniture from hand-forged solid iron and interlaced hoop iron. The designs often combine stamped or bent iron parts with hoop or stamped sheet iron. The Industrie line enhances the rust appeal with wax and oil treatments, while the Pittsburgh line uses hot-rolled bright steel for a unique bluish-grey finish.
Care and Maintenance
Metal furniture should be refreshed approximately every ten years to maintain its condition, as even advanced paints cannot withstand prolonged exposure to sun and moisture. For regular care, wipe with a slightly damp cloth and protect from the elements, especially during winter. The Industrie line's rusted frames benefit from occasional floor polish applications. Upon delivery, remove the oily film that protects the furniture during storage. If rust appears, sand the area and treat it with oil or wax. Lambert offers repair lacquer for persistent rust issues.

Metal-1

Metal Furniture Lambert wanted the old, hand-forged and unadorned iron, inspired by the old tables and chairs you can see in southern France. They almost show signs of rust that refuse to be checked by paint and red lead. Rust is a natural characteristic of iron. It produces its own special hues which harmonize with nature. Rusty iron has an attractive, mellow look which has an invigorating effect on its surroundings. The alternative in the collection is painted iron: A brilliant or semi-gloss black or a warm dark brown. Lambert adopted these traditional colours because they have stood the test of time. Workmanship Lambert is one of only a few producers of iron furniture made of hand-forged solid iron (Porthos) and of interlaced hoop iron (Napoleon). Normally the chairs present a combination of stamped or bent iron parts in the back area and hoop iron or stamped sheet iron in the seat. Regarding the modern Industrie line, the rust appeal of the frame tubes is even enhanced by a wax treatment and subsequently applied oil. The outcome is rust surfaces giving the collection a modern and urban accent. The sheet steel furniture of the Pittsburgh-line is made of bright steel which is hot-rolled to give it a dark bluish-grey sheen.

Care Together with the garden fence, metal furniture should be freshened up about every ten years. Until today this has proved to be the best form of maintenance: even the most advanced paints are no match in the long run for strong sun and moisture. This is why metal furniture is only moderately suited for permanent outdoor use. It does not necessarily dislike short rain showers, but they should be wiped dry afterwards in order to avoid corrosion. Apart from that, metal furniture should be protected against the elements by all means and be kept in a dry place during the wintertime. For regular...
