MONUMENT Monument is a collection of shelving units that combines wood and marble. This piece was imagined by Mathieu Girard and Gauthier Pouillart of Atelier Cocorico. The visual strength and stability of Monument relies on an ingenious construction system that does not require any tool. The result is a brutalist, material centered piece with a strong sculptural presence. The two imposing “cross” columns that constitute the superstructure are the visual signature of the shelf, but also present and enhance beautiful objects or books. MONUMENT | MATHIEU GIRARD & GAUTHIER POUILLART SECURING For the high versions of Monument, we recommend to place it next to a wall and secure it with the brackets included to avoid tilting. Slide the brackets between the wall and the last horizontal board. There is no need to drill in the board as the top parts of the brackets are locking the shelf. Screw the brackets to the wall and align Monument so there is no space between the parts.
