Application
KOMFORTEX® Elastic Pavement Blocks are designed for stable aisles, entrances to riding areas, pastures, hitching rails, and washing bays. They can be easily laid over asphalt and concrete surfaces and are environmentally friendly due to their recycling guarantee.

Material
The blocks are made from granulated recycled rubber and bound with polyurethane.

Characteristics
The blocks are available in red, green, or black, with possible minor color variations or fading. They have a smooth surface with open pores and beveled edges on the top side.

Dimensions / Tolerances
Full blocks measure approximately 200 x 165 x 43 mm and weigh about 1.20 kg. Half blocks are 100 x 165 x 43 mm, weighing 0.60 kg, and starter blocks are 200 x 140 x 43 mm, weighing 1.10 kg. Dimensional tolerances are +/- 0.8% for length and width, and +/- 1.5% for thickness.

Product Testing
The blocks have long-term thermal stability from -40°C to +80°C and short-term stability up to 110°C. They are classified as Efl, E for fire resistance and have a compressive load capacity of over 4 N/mm². The modulus of elasticity is 2.88 +/- 0.12 N/mm², with a dynamic range of 1.2 – 6.5 N/mm². Thermal conductivity is between 0.177 – 0.199 W/mK, and water absorption capacity is a maximum of 20%. They are resistant to weak acids and lye, and conditionally resistant to oils. The impact sound improvement measure is 26 dB.

Installation
The blocks should be installed over a frost-stable, firmly compacted subgrade of cement or bitumen-bound granular subgrade. The installation requires 35 full blocks per m², 4 half blocks per running meter, and 5 starter blocks per running meter. It is recommended to calculate an additional 3% for cutoff.
