series Dampers 100-2

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed specifications and technical data for the Series 100-200 dampers and louvers manufactured by Koolair. It includes information on regulating dampers, outside air intake louvers, and overpressure dampers.
100 Series Regulating Dampers: These dampers are designed with opposed and aerodynamic vanes, available in aluminium and galvanized steel. They feature air-tight gaskets and can be manually or motor-driven. The dampers are suitable for standard duct dimensions and can be mounted directly onto ducts. Load loss and air tightness graphs are provided to assist in selection.
200 Series Outside Air Intake Louvers: Constructed in extruded aluminium, these louvers are designed to prevent rainwater and snow ingress. They come with anti-bird or anti-insect meshes and can be equipped with control dampers. The document includes technical data, pressure loss graphs, and sound power level graphs to aid in selection.
TAC-200 Series Circular Weather Louvres: These are circular louvres made from extruded aluminium, designed for outdoor installation to prevent water ingress. They are available with bird or insect screens and are suitable for various building types.
Overpressure Damper 230 SP: This section includes examples of selection and dimensions for overpressure dampers, highlighting their application in controlling airflow and pressure.
Technical Data and Graphs: The document provides detailed graphs and tables for load loss, air tightness, pressure loss, and sound power levels, which are crucial for selecting the appropriate damper or louvre based on specific requirements.
Installation and Accessories: Installation instructions and available accessories, such as mounting frames and filters, are detailed for each product type. The document also outlines the coding system for ordering specific models and configurations.
Technical Document Summary:
1. Specifications and Data:
  • Sound Power Levels (Lw): Various sound power levels are provided in dB(A) for different conditions.
  • Effective Velocity (Veff): Measurements in m/s are given for different scenarios.
  • Static Pressure (Ps): Pressure values in Pa are listed for various conditions.
2. Air Flow and Pressure Loss:
  • Air Flow Rates (Q): A table provides air flow rates in m3/h and corresponding values in l/s.
  • Pressure Loss Graphs: Graphs illustrate pressure loss for TAC-200 louvres, incorporating effects of insect or bird screens.
3. Overpressure Dampers (Series 200, Type 230 SP):
  • Model Description: Overpressure damper model 230 SP is made from extruded aluminium, designed for noise reduction and efficiency.
  • Finishes: Available in natural aluminium with special finishes upon request.
  • Fixing: Incorporates holes for wall or duct fixing using screws or rivets.
  • Applications: Suitable for air discharge in machine rooms, ventilation equipment, and pressurised zones.
4. Example of Selection:
  • For a known air flow rate, the frontal area of the damper can be calculated using the formula: A(f) = Q(m3/h) / Vf (m/s) • 3600.
  • Example calculation for a 3000 m3/h flow rate results in a damper size of 450 x 480 mm with a pressure loss of about 37 Pa.

100 Series Regulating Dampers Description Regulating damper with opposed and aerodynamic vanes, manufactured in aluminium (AOBD-102-E). The body of the damper has built-in air tight gaskets all around its inner perimeter to ensure a tight seal. The movement of the vanes is ensured by means of gears, achieving a proper friction, with manual or motor-driven operation. Manually Operated Model AOBD-102-E Manually Operated Model AOBD-102-E doublelength (L>1200) Vanes are available with 75 and 100 mm vane axis distances, to complete the entire range of standard duct dimensions. Flat parallel-vane (SOBD-105)...

Load loss and air tightness graphs for aluminium regulating dampers Note: The air leak at damper AOBD-102-E is not greater than 2% in the closed position, with a static pressure of 1250 Pa. Example of Selection Knowing the air flow to be regulated by the damper, and using, for example, a front velocity of 6 m/s, the front surface of the damper can be obtained. This can be calculated using the following formula: Af(m2) = qv (m3/h) / Vf (m/s) • 3600 With an air flow rate (qv) of 10.800 m3/h, we obtain: Af (m2) = 10.800 / 6 • 3600= 0,50 m2 This would lead to an AOBD-102-E damper with a 1000 x 500...

Table for forced ventilation based on a corrected face velocity of 2.5 m/s, which corresponds to a sound power level of 48 dB(A) when functioning as an extract grille and 52 dB(A) as an fresh air intake grille, considering an area of 1 m2 (use table 3, Sound Power Level Correction Table, to calculate other areas). Table 1. Quick selection tables The free/frontal area of an air intake grille with dimensions LxH can be calculated as follows: The frontal area would be Af(m2)=(L-0.014)*(H-0.109). The relation of this area to LxH will be the free area percentage. Example: For dimensions 1000x800:...

Technical data 210-TA Selection example Next, a selection example is shown in order to pre-select the specific dimensions of an air intake or extract grille. The starting point is the design flow rate, for example, 3000 m3/h. First of all, the frontal area required to give a face velocity of around 2.5 m/s is calculated, i.e. (3000m3/h)/(3600s/h) = 2.5 m/s*Afrontal(m2) ; Afrontal(m2)=0.333 The dimensions are found using the formula in the “Quick selection table” section (L-0,014)x(H-0,109), and according to the desired aspect ratio. In this example we will use 2:1. The frontal length will therefore...

Circular weather louvres TAC-200 Description Weather louvre, model TAC-200. Painted in white RAL 9010. Special finishes available upon request. Circular weather louvre, constructed in extruded aluminium. Its design and blade shape avoid vision through the louvre. It avoids penetration of rain water, snow, etc., since it has been principally designed for outdoor installation. Its circular shape makes it ideal for those installations where, for architectural reasons, conventional rectangular louvres are not acceptable. The louvre frame is provided with holes for fixing by means of screws. Weather...
