Introduction

This document provides an update on the KS1000 DLTR rooflight and associated storm washer, highlighting recent changes to improve the fit and functionality of these components.

Changes to KS1000 DLTR Rooflight

The production of the KS1000 DLTR rooflight has been modified to enhance the fit of the end lap in both rooflight over panel and rooflight over rooflight configurations. The crown profile width at the cut back location has been slightly increased for both 75mm and 150mm end laps, applicable to all KS1000 DLTR rooflight options.

Storm Washer Adjustments

Due to the changes in the rooflight profile, a larger storm washer is now required. The new storm washer has a nominal width of 35mm and an angle of 23 degrees off the vertical. The length remains unchanged. It is advised to contact suppliers for specific sizes to match the increased profile crown width.

Installation Recommendations

The new storm washer should be used at all fixing locations for the KS1000 DLTR rooflight, including:

• Panel over KS1000 DLTR rooflight end lap.
• KS1000 DLTR rooflight over KS1000 DLTR rooflight end lap.
• KS1000 DLTR rooflight over panel end lap.
• All intermediate purlin locations.

Storm Washer Specifications

The storm washer is made from 1mm thick profiled aluminium with reinforcement ribs. It features a raised area around the fastener hole for correct compression. The aluminium conforms to EN AW – 3005 H48 and is Poppy red. The underside has a bonded closed cell EPDM backing with a density of 135 kg/m³ and temperature resistance from -40°C to +100°C.
