KIMMCO Building Slab (KBS)
The KIMMCO Building Slab is engineered for thermal and acoustic insulation in applications like concrete floors, walls, roofs, and industrial uses. Made from stable glass fibers bonded with thermosetting resins, it performs well under extreme temperatures and conditions.

Applications
KBS is ideal for insulating concrete and metal roof decks, single leaf walls, curtain walls, cavity wall construction, and industrial applications such as boilers and storage tanks.

Performance
The slabs are dimensionally stable, rot-proof, odorless, and non-hygroscopic, capable of withstanding high temperatures and normal loads in domestic and commercial structures. They are available with various facings for different applications.

Specifications
Standard dimensions range from 25mm to 100mm in thickness and 0.4m to 1.2m in width, with nominal densities from 24 kg/m3 to 120 kg/m3. The slabs meet numerous American, British, and German standards.

Fire Safety
KIMMCO Building Slabs are non-combustible, tested according to BS 476, ASTM E136, and ISO 1182 standards, achieving Class 1 and Class 0 fire safety ratings.

Moisture and Acoustic Performance
The slabs absorb less than 1% moisture by volume and comply with ASTM E96 for moisture permeance. They provide excellent acoustic insulation as per ASTM C423.

Thermal Conductivity
Thermal conductivity varies with temperature and density, offering significant thermal resistance and contributing to energy efficiency.

Installation Guidelines
For cavity walls, slabs should be placed against the inner leaf with a minimum air gap for drainage. On concrete floors, slabs are laid on a damp-proof membrane. Installation on metal roofs can be done using bitumen adhesion or mechanical fixings.

Commitment to Quality
KIMMCO emphasizes quality and environmental responsibility, using up to 80% recycled glass in its products and collaborating with international environmental organizations to ensure compliance with best practices.

Commitment to the Environment
KIMMCO is committed to environmental sustainability, serving as the sole insulation supplier for MASDAR city, a zero-carbon, zero-waste city in Abu Dhabi. The company collaborates with local and international environmental agencies to ensure the health and safety of its people and communities. KIMMCO's Glasswool products support developers in achieving green building certifications like LEED, Estidama, and QSAS.

Industry Associations
KIMMCO is a member of several industry associations, including the Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC), Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), MASDAR (The Future Build), and the Middle East Minerwool Insulation Manufacturers Association (MEMIMA).

Product Listing & Certification
KIMMCO's products are certified by various international bodies, including CE, UL, BV, ABS, and DCL (Dubai Central Laboratory).
