Innovation CONCRETCOOL What is CONCRETCOOL? CONCRETCOOL is the enlargement of an air handling unit (AHU) with the additional component of concrete activation with air. Supply air acts as the operating medium. The air flow rates required for hygienic purposes also meet the cooling needs of the building. Additional nighttime cooling provides enhanced cooling capacity during hot weather periods. Therefore, there is no need to use water in concrete ceilings! Why CONCRETCOOL? Cooling pipe Ø 60 and Ø 80 mm Depending on the location of your construction project, different meteorological...

Function CONCRETCOOL Cooling pipes are laid in the structurally neutral zone. How does CONCRETCOOL work? Cooling pipes Ø 60 mm and Ø 80 mm made of aluminium, which is an excellent thermal conductor, are cast into the concrete ceilings in line with the grid. The inside surface of the pipes is finned to improve the transfer of heat. therefore not required. The process is self-regulating and operates virtually without fluctuations with a high degree of temperature stability due to the significant storage capacity of the concrete ceilings. The heat recovery of the AHU system is increased to...

Areas of use CONCRETCOOL Where is CONCRETCOOL used? The system has been available on the market since year 2000 and has been successfully installed in over 76 projects with a total area of over 335,000 m² in office and administrative buildings, libraries, schools, museums and clinics. What can you expect from Kiefer? for AHU system from the planning to the commissioning. System Benefits CONCRETCOOL Ceiling cooling with air Architects and building owners welcome the ability to dispense with water for construction part activation, particularly in highly technical buildings. However, many of them are only familiar with water-borne systems and raise the following questions: Why use air for cooling? The meteorological annual data for outside air (8-11 °C) offers significant cooling potential free of charge. This cooling potential can meet the cooling requirements of a building! How much air is required? We recommend that the air flow rate be calculated on the...
