KEY MMA ELASTOMERIC DECKING DESCRIPTION KEY MMA ELASTOMERIC DECKING SYSTEM is a 100% reactive, rapidly curing methyl methacrylate (MMA) decking system. This system is composed of 100% MMA elastomeric basecoat resins, decorative colored quartz aggregate or silica aggregate, and clear or pigmented MMA top coats. Installed thickness is 3/16” to 1/4” depending on intended service and project requirements. On or below grade installation must have an efficient vapor barrier under the slab (minimum 10-15 mil). Moisture vapor transmission must be less than 3 pounds per ASTM-F-1869 and less than 80% RH per ASTM F-2170. Excessive moisture requires a moisture vapor control system, consult with Key Resin. Colors will not fade or wear thin. SURFACE PREPARATION Surface preparation is the most critical portion of any successful resinous flooring system. All substrates must be properly prepared as outlined in Key Resin Company’s Technical Bulletin #1. In addition, All Key MMA Flooring Systems require a minimum surface profile of CSP 4-5, as outlined in ICRI Guideline 310.2-1997, formerly named G-03732 (available from www.ICRI.org). MIXING AND INSTALLATION KEY MMA ELASTOMERIC DECKING SYSTEM is composed of a primer, elastomeric basecoats broadcasted with decorative quartz or silica, and clear or pigmented top coats. KEY 9112 MMA primer resin, when properly catalyzed, is spread with a notched squeegee and back rolled at approximately 100 ft²/gallon, followed with a light aggregate broadcast. Substrates that are very porous may require an additional primer application, it is important to achieve a resin-rich layer for proper curing.
