Product catalog summary
Description: KEY EPOCON QUARTZ is a decorative resin flooring system designed for heavy-duty protection with a thickness of 1/8 to 3/16 inch. It features a moisture vapor transmission tolerant base and a colored quartz aggregate finish, available in satin or gloss. The system reduces porosity, inhibits skid, and minimizes bacterial growth and chemical penetration. It can be customized with pre-blended patterns or solid colors, and an integral cove base is available for seamless wall-to-floor coatings.
Key Advantages: The system is decorative, moisture vapor transmission resistant, high impact and wear-resistant, low maintenance, non-skid, and offers chemical-resistant finishes.
Key Considerations: Installation requires an efficient vapor barrier for on or below-grade applications, a substrate temperature of at least 55°F, and a clean substrate free of foreign materials. All control and expansion joints must be revealed with appropriate divider strips.
Typical Uses: Suitable for corridors, auditoriums, kitchens, cafeterias, laboratories, correctional and healthcare facilities, and bottling/packaging areas in distilleries and beverage facilities.
Warranty: Key Resin Company offers a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects, with liability limited to replacement or refund of non-conforming materials.
Technical Data: The system comprises EPOCON slurry with epoxy resin and decorative quartz aggregates. It is available in various colors that do not fade or wear thin. The system is distributed across the US, Canada, and other countries.
Application: Concrete surfaces must be sound and properly prepared. Installation involves applying base coats, broadcasting quartz, grouting, and sealing. Maintenance includes cleaning with neutral soaps or detergents and optional waxing.
Technical Service: Key Resin Company provides material selection, specification, troubleshooting, and repair consultations. Representatives are available for assistance.
System Performance Properties: The system is self-extinguishing, does not support fungus or bacteria growth, has a hardness of 80-84 Shore D, bond strength of 300 psi, and withstands temperatures up to 158°F. It has a coefficient of friction of 0.80, nil water absorption, passes thermal shock resistance, and has compressive, tensile, and flexural strengths of 5,500 psi, 1,300 psi, and 1,500 psi respectively.
