PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS

Product catalog summary
Workshop Equipment, Tools, and Conditions for Kerrock Processing
Essential equipment includes a variety of saws, milling machines, routers, grinders, drilling machines, and glue application kits. The workshop must maintain a temperature of at least 18°C, be well-lit, and free of dust and waste.
Storage and Transport
Kerrock sheets should be transported on pallets using forklifts and stored in dry, ventilated areas at 15-23°C, avoiding moisture and sunlight.
Quality Review
Each Kerrock sheet is inspected for mechanical damage, color consistency, and defects. Users must also check for faults upon receipt, following standards for quality control.
Glue
Kerrock glue is a two-component adhesive that is thermally conductive and UV-resistant. Proper storage and handling are crucial due to its flammable nature.
Tools and Accessories for Kerrock Processing
Processing requires specific tools, including basic and additional machines for cutting, gluing, and finishing Kerrock materials.
Preparation of Working Area
The workshop should be at a temperature of 18°C to 25°C, well-lit, and free of dust. Sheets should be stored at 20°C for at least 12 hours before processing.
Cutting Kerrock Sheets
Use squaring circular saws with specific blade teeth for cutting. Ensure edges are smooth to prevent cracks, and plan cuts with a minimum radius of 6mm.
Gluing
Use two-component acrylic adhesive for Kerrock to Kerrock, ensuring color matching and proper edge preparation. For other materials, use elastic silicone or polyurethane adhesives.
Special Methods for Marble and Metal Effect Sheets
Ensure pattern matching and consider glitter orientation. Use 45° angle or groove joining methods for aesthetic consistency.
Edge Details
Options for countertop edges include pre-prepared elements or using an edge milling machine. Specific methods are required for sheets with metal particles.
Installation of Sinks and Washbowls
Make a rough cut with a jigsaw, ensuring a 5mm over-measurement. Prepare the surface for gluing and secure the sink or bowl in place.
Installation of Inox Sink
Cut Kerrock material into rectangular pieces and drill holes for screws. Glue bearing screws along the sink and avoid cutting coils into Kerrock surfaces.
Finishing Edge of a Cut
Various finishing profiles can be created using a handheld milling machine. A drainer can also be installed in the Kerrock countertop.
Making Boreholes
Use high-speed steel or metal carbide drills for boreholes. Insert a brass or PVC cork for screw joining.
Installation of Cooking Plate
Consider potential faults like heat expansion. Reinforce cuts with Kerrock strips and process with a milling machine.
Support of Countertop
Use a ladder-like sub-structure for mounting Kerrock countertops, protected from moisture.
Grinding and Polishing
Use appropriate sandpaper for desired shine. Polishing involves finer sandpapers and polishing paste.
Vertical Applications
Kerrock sheets can be used for wall cladding, requiring at least 6mm thickness.
Thermal Treatment
Kerrock can be thermally treated and moulded. Ensure even heating and cooling to avoid damage.
Peculiarities of Kerrock Processing
Kerrock Lumino sheets require careful joint placement for even light dispersion.
Specifications and Recommendations
Consider light source positioning and heat management to prevent deformation. Thermoforming is not recommended due to potential color changes.
Kerrock Marble Effect
This effect mimics natural marble with unique patterns. Proper preparation is necessary for optimal results.
Kerrock Luminaco Effect
Combines terrazzo and translucent particles. Unsuitable for thermoforming or outdoor use.
Kerrock ES – Easy Shaping
Ideal for thermoforming smaller radii. Available in white.
Kerrock MF (MED Certificate)
Offers improved fire resistance and is suitable for marine equipment.
Training and Quality Assurance
Kolpa provides training to ensure high-quality Kerrock products. Proper storage and batch consistency are crucial.
Technical Data
Key characteristics include volume mass, flexural modulus, tensile strength, and resistance to various conditions.
Sheet Availability
Kerrock sheets are available in various sizes and thicknesses for specific applications.
