DUCT ACCESS DOOR 260 Spagnoli Road MelviUe, NY 11747 GENERAL SCOPE: Access doors shall be Karp Type KHD (Hinged) and Type KCD (No Hinge) as manufactured by Karp Associates, Inc., Sizes shall be as indicated on the drawings. 1. a. On door sizes of 12 x 12 inches and smaller, door shall be 24 gage galvanized steel. b. On door sizes of 14 x 14 inches and larger, door shall be 22 gage galvanized steel. 2. Frame shall be 22 gage galvanized steel. 3. Removable with double cam latches. 4. Door shall be filled with 2" thick fiberglass insulation compressed into 1". R factor = 7.7 5. Gasketing between door and frame shall be 1/2" thick by 1/8" wide closed cell neoprene gasketing. 6. Cam latches shall be zinc plated steel - self-tightening 7. Back of frame to have 5/8" notched knock-over edges.
