Product catalog summary
Introduction
Karakter Copenhagen is a Danish design brand known for producing unique furniture, interior objects, lighting, and gallery pieces. The brand emphasizes designs that are innovative and creative, selecting designers who are either established or emerging in the design world.

Design Philosophy
Christian Elving, CEO & Partner, highlights that design should stem from a genuine desire to create or solve a problem, rather than just to sell. This philosophy is reflected in the works of Achille Castiglioni, an Italian designer known for his innovative approach to design.

Achille Castiglioni's Wire Book Case
Originally designed in 1957 and perfected over the years, the Wire Book Case by Achille Castiglioni exemplifies his approach to design by stripping down to the essentials. The bookcase features shelves hung on knots in two cords fixed to a single wall point, supported by a satin-finish brass plate. It was first produced by Bernini in 1966 and relaunched by Karakter Copenhagen in 2016.

Italian designer Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) had a passion for re-designing, re-inventing and re-conceptualizing. Traditional interior design objects would pass through his Milan based studio and end up perfected. He always aimed at enhancing and glorifying the value of the design.
