Initial situation: Black glue provides a processable and visually desirable background to the imperfections of rustic types of veneer, cracks and loose knots. The seepage of black glue, especially in undesirable areas, can lead to customer complaints. The degree of glue seepage differs depending on the wood density and veneer thickness and is controllable only to a certain extent. Every producer of veneered board faces these problems. Until now, Kaindl had recommended transparent glue as an alternative. However, this option always represents additional expense for the customer (filling, colouring or similar). Kaindl now offers a new and reliable solution to the problem: A core board with black priming film on both sides is coated with a transparent glue before the rustic veneer is applied. The black priming film creates a visually ideal background for open sections. Black glue cannot seep through! The slight shininess of the black segments through the transparent glue disappears when the surface is treated (varnish, oil, etc.). This product was tested with success in the marketplace following our laboratory tests. The positive feedback after five months confirmed expectations. To date, more than 1,000 have been sold / processed without complaint - with no fewer than 10 different processors. For queries: M. “BLACKBACK” is available on the following core boards: Chipboard core board 2800 x2070 mm: 8 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm, 38 mm MDF core board 2800 x 2070 mm: 18 mm Other thicknesses and core boards are only available as before with either black or transparent glue. A veneer thickness of 0.9 mm or more can used as an additional option. These veneer thicknesses banish the risk of seeping glue due to the thickness of the raw veneer.
