Chandelier 61 26-9 "Maria Theresia" The Viennese Baroque Family As a relatively poor country Austria adopted a unique style of baroque chandeliers. Instead of expensive bronze we used wrought iron to construct the frame. This is then leaf-gilded and clad with fitted glass bands or numerous crystal rosettes to augment the impression. To further enhance the brilliance it is decorated with the typical crystal pendants. An important detail is then the number and size of these pendants. The crystal must never be overdone. But they must be selected in a size not to leave gaps between the arms which would have to be bridged with chains.
