The GIQ850 CO2 generator is designed for connection to an R744 subcritical refrigeration system. Key features include a stainless steel reinforced evaporator, electronic expansion valve, evaporation pressure regulator, adjustable reducer speed, and maximum pressures of 40 bar (high) and 30 bar (low). A liquid sight glass is also included.
Connection
The generator is supplied with CO2 at 1 bar and connects at the top rear. It uses threaded SAE flare connections (3/8" liquid) without shut-off valves. Service keys must have a parallel check valve to prevent overpressure. Vacuum lines through service outlets and open service keys are required.
Electrical and Water Connection
The unit includes a 1.5m cord with a Schuko single-phase plug. Water connection is via a flexible hose to a 3/4" gas outlet with a minimum pressure of 1 bar.
Commissioning and Adjustments
Start the unit using the front switch; the gear motor activates after 10 minutes. Ensure the working frequency is 70Hz and the rotation direction is correct. The expansion valve starts after 3 minutes. Adjust the evaporation temperature to -24°C (16.4 bar) using the suction valve. Check for bubbles in the sight glass to ensure proper liquid flow.
Alarms and Signalling
If water pressure is insufficient, the machine stops and restarts after pressure returns with a 10-minute delay. An inverter alarm indicates a blockage or overload, requiring a reset by switching off and on. Error codes are displayed on the inverter screen.
Technical Specifications
The refrigeration requirement is 3,400W at -24°C. The generator's net weight is 88 kg, and it features easy access for service and installation, strong mechanics, and security controls. All models are finished in stainless steel, with a water inlet of 3/4"-28mm and refrigerant R.404A.
