Technical Leaflet ISOMAT AG 80-2Κ Transparent varnish for protecting surfaces from graffiti Description ISOMAT AG 80-2K is a transparent, twocomponent, polyurethane varnish, used for the protection of surfaces from graffiti and environmental pollutants. It forms a membrane which does not allow the graffiti paint (spray, markers) to penetrate into the substrate and thus makes cleaning easy. The membrane formed is waterproof, unaffected by UV radiation, does not turn yellow and offers very good mechanical and chemical resistance. It also shows great resistance to aging and weather conditions. Fields of application ISOMAT AG 80-2K is applied on surfaces made of concrete, plaster, stone, metal, marble, wood etc., in order to protect them from graffiti or environmental impurities. It also enables removing posters from them. It is ideal for building facades, statues, monuments, metal signs, etc. Technical data 1. Substrate preparation The substrate must be dry and free from dust, grease, old stains, etc. A surface that is already covered with graffiti can be cleaned with hot water under pressure or the special cleaning agent ISOMAT GRAFFITI REMOVER. 2. Application Components A (resin) and B (hardener) are packed in two separate containers, at a predetermined mixing ratio by weight. The whole quantity of Component B is thoroughly mixed with the whole quantity of Component A with a low-speed mixer (300 rpm) for about 23 minutes. It is important to stir the mixture thoroughly near the sides and bottom of the container, to achieve uniform dispersion of the hardener. After mixing, it is recommended to let the mixture rest for a few minutes before the application, in order to help the entrapped air escape. ISOMAT AG 80-2K is applied with a roller, brush or by spraying in two layers. The second layer may be applied within 24 hours from the first one, depending on the weather conditions. Tools are cleaned with the special solvent SM-16, while ISOMAT AG 80-2K is still fresh. Caution: ISOMAT AG 80-2K obtains its antigraffiti properties within 7 days from its application, which is actually the time it takes to fully harden.
