Product catalog summary
Description
FLEX PU-40 is a one-component, solvent-free polyurethane adhesive sealant known for its resistance to temperatures from -40°C to +80°C, excellent bonding capabilities with various building materials, high elasticity, and durability against aging and weather conditions. It can be dyed with water-soluble paints after hardening.
Fields of Application
This product is suitable for sealing vertical and horizontal joints on materials such as concrete, aluminum, steel, wood, glass, and stones, both indoors and outdoors. It is also suitable for bonding these materials. For grouting on stones like marble and granite, consultation with ISOMAT’s Technical Support is recommended.
Technical Data
  • Base: Polyurethane
  • Colors: White, grey, brown
  • Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C
  • Film formation: Approximately 50-55 minutes
  • Curing speed: ≥ 3.5 mm/day
  • Hardness (SHORE A): Approximately 45
  • Elastic modulus at 100% elongation: 1.0 ± 0.1 N/mm²
  • Elongation at break: ≥ 450%
Directions for Use
  1. Substrate Preparation: Ensure the substrate is dry and free from dust, loose particles, and grease. Clean the joint with a paintbrush or wire brush and air-blast. Use self-adhesive paper-tape along joint edges to prevent soiling, removing it before film formation.
  2. Application: Insert the cartridge into a special gun, cut the nozzle slantwise, and apply FLEX PU-40 along the joint axis at a 45° angle. Level the mastic with a trowel while fresh.
Cleaning of Tools: Clean tools with common solvents while the material is fresh. If hardened, mechanical cleaning is required.
Consumption
  • Joint 10mm x 10mm: 1 cartridge per 3 meters of joint length.
  • Joint 5mm x 5mm: 1 cartridge per 12 meters of joint length.
Packaging
  • Cartridges of 310 ml
  • Sausages of 600 ml
Shelf-life - Storage
The product has a shelf-life of 12 months when stored in dry and frost-free conditions.

Technical Datasheet FLEX PU-40-1

Technical Leaflet Directions for use FLEX PU-40 is a one-component, solvent-free polyurethane adhesive sealing mastic, providing: • Resistance to temperatures ranging from -40oC to +80oC. • Excellent bonding to any kind of building material. • High elasticity. • Great endurance to aging and weather. • Dyeability after hardening, only with water-soluble paints. FLEX PU-40 is suitable for sealing vertical and horizontal joints, on various materials like concrete, aluminium, steel, wood, glass, natural and artificial stones etc., both indoors and outdoors. Also suitable for bonding these materials. In case of grouting on natural or artificial stones, such as marble and granite, please contact ISOMAT’s Technical Support Department. 1. Substrate preparation Substrate must be dry and free of dust, loose particles, grease etc. It is recommended that the joint is cleaned up by using a paintbrush or a wire brush and then air-blasted. To avoid undesirable soiling at joint edges, a self-adhesive paper-tape is applied alongside the edges and then removed immediately after sealing the joint (before a film is formed). 2. Application The cartridge is inserted in the special gun and the nozzle is cut slantwise, so that it does not fit into the joint but barely touches and slides along the edges. FLEX PU-40 is applied by moving the cartridge along the joint axis at a 450 angle. While still fresh, the mastic is leveled with a trowel. Cleaning of tools: Tools must be thoroughly cleaned with common solvents, while material is still fresh. If material has hardened, tools may only be mechanically cleaned.
