Technical Datasheet ACCELERATOR-5000 is a special set accelerator for ISOFLEX-PU 500 that enables its application at low temperatures or in thicker layers. It also increases the thixotropy and mechanical strength of ISOFLEX-PU 500. It is added to ISOFLEX-PU 500 to accelerate its setting. It offers the following advantages: • It enables the application of ISOFLEX-PU 500 at low temperatures. • It prevents the appearance of air bubbles, when ISOFLEX-PU 500 is applied in thick layers. • It allows ISOFLEX-PU 500 to set under low humidity conditions. should be avoided, while it is also essential to add SM-16 special solvent (approx. 5% by weight). Application at temperatures between +8oC and +30oC After mixing ISOFLEX-PU 500 with ACCELERATOR-5000, it is optional to add SM-16 special solvent (2-5% by weight), as the accelerator increases the viscosity of ISOFLEX-PU 500. Application at temperatures > +30oC The use of the accelerator at temperatures higher than 30oC should be avoided, as the pot life of ISOFLEX-PU 500 will be extremely short. Color: transparent/pale yellow Directions for use 6% by weight of ISOFLEX-PU 500: • 1.5 kg of ACCELERATOR-5000 per 25 ACCELERATOR-5000 should be shaken before it is opened and added to ISOFLEX-PU 500. They are then mixed and stirred with a low-speed mixer (300 rpm.), so that the mixture becomes homogeneous. Extensive stirring should be avoided, in order to prevent air entrapment in the material. ISOFLEX-PU 500 should be applied immediately after the addition of ACCELERATOR-5000, as the mixture’s pot life is approx. 15 minutes. Application at temperatures between -10oC and +8oC Before the application, the containers of ISOFLEX-PU 500 and ACCELERATOR-5000 must have been stored in a heated space (at temperatures > +18oC) for at least 24 hours. At low temperatures, thick application layers 12 months from production date, if stored in original, unopened packaging, at temperatures between +50C and +350C. Protect from direct sun exposure and frost. • The mixture’s pot life, after the addition of the accelerator, depends on the temperature and humidity conditions on site. • Containers of ACCELERATOR-5000 that are opened may be used again,

even if the original pale yellow color of the material has turned brown. If in doubt, please contact the company’s Technical Support Department. Although the addition of ACCELERATOR-5000 allows the application of ISOFLEX-PU 500 in thicker layers, in case of using more than 1 kg/m2/coat, it is recommended to treat the surface with a special, spiked roller, in order to help the entrapped air escape.
