Product catalog summary
Description
Valchromat is a wood fibre panel coloured during production, using organic colouring agents and a special resin, giving it unique physicochemical properties. It is classified as MDF.HLS under EN 622-5. The panels are moisture-resistant and come in various shades due to natural wood colour variations. They are supplied unfinished, requiring a protective layer of varnish, wax, or oil.
Colours
Available colours include White Pearl, White Grey, Light Grey, Grey, Black, Chocolate, Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green Mint, and Khaki.
Applications
Valchromat is suitable for interior design, furniture, flooring, doors, bathrooms, kitchens, and more. In moist areas, panels should be varnished and edges sealed. They should not be used in direct water contact areas like kitchen worktops or showers.
Dimensions and Thicknesses
Available dimensions are 2440 x 1220 mm, 2440 x 1830 mm, 3660 x 1220 mm, and 3660 x 2440 mm. Thicknesses range from 8 mm to 30 mm.
Thickness and Cutting Tolerances
Thickness tolerance varies from ±0.2 mm to ±0.3 mm, and cutting tolerance is ±2 mm/m, with a maximum of 5 mm.
Finishes
Finishes protect the surface and maintain appearance. Options include varnish, wax, or oil. Varnishes are complex, with acrylic and aliphatic polyurethane being popular choices. Waxes and oils are not recommended for moist environments.
Certifications
Valchromat complies with EN ISO 9001 and EN 13986 standards and can be certified with FSC® or PEFC upon request. It can also meet CARB Phase 2 or US EPA-TSCS Title VI standards.
Panel Weight
Weight varies by thickness and dimension, with detailed specifications provided for each combination.
Storage and Handling
Panels should be stored in a controlled environment, supported on a flat base. Handling should use appropriate equipment, and manual handling requires proper techniques and protective equipment.
Properties
Key properties include density, bending strength, modulus of elasticity, internal bond, swelling in thickness, and formaldehyde content, with specific values provided for each thickness.

Edition: 2024.1 Date: 13/09/2024 Page 1 de 4 1. Description Valchromat is a panel made of wood fibres coloured in the production process. The fibres are impregnated with organic colouring agents and chemically bound to one another by a special resin which lends Valchromat unique physicochemical features. Valchromat is an MDF.HLS, in compliance with the EN 622-5 standard. Valchromat panels, thanks to the use of organic colouring agents and the natural variation of the wood colour, come in different shades. This variation may be seen on the same surface, between the two faces of the same panel, or between the different production batches or thicknesses. To minimize this effect, the supply must be from a single production. Valchromat is a moisture resistant panel, supplied with no finish, and therefore a layer of varnish, wax or oil is recommended. 2. Colours 3. Applications Interior design, furniture, linings, flooring, doors, bathrooms and kitchens, restaurants, exhibition stands, shopfitting, decorative panels, acoustic panels, among others. Whenever the panels are used in moist zones, such as bathrooms or kitchens, it should be protected with a varnish and the edges must be properly sealed. The Valchromat panels should not be applied in places where they will come into direct contact with water, such as kitchen worktops and bathroom showers. 4. Finishes A finish should be applied to the Valchromat panel to protect its surface and maintain its appearance. The finish can be varnish, wax or oil. Varnish - Of the three kinds of finishes described, the varnishes are the most complex and at times the most difficult to choose given the broad range available on the market. Any wood varnish can be applied to Valchromat. Varnishes manufactured with acrylic resins and aliphatic polyurethane are widely...
