Pointing of Joints
Grouting or pointing of joints can be done using Type N White Masonry Cement mixed with White Sand for accurate coloring. For enhanced water repellency, a Urethane/Polyurethane sealant is recommended.
Anchors
Typically, no additional anchoring is needed for mortar set installations. However, if required, stainless steel dowels or dowels with straps are commonly used. Some installations may need professional engineering review for proper anchorage.
Cleaning
Once the mortar has set, brush the pool coping with a stiff fiber brush and rinse with clear water to remove stains or foreign matter.

Indiana Limestone complies with ASTM C-568, Type II, Medium density limestone standards.

Delivery, Storage, and Handling
ILC Pool Coping should be handled carefully to prevent breakage. It is supplied on pallets or timbers to keep it off the ground. Storage should be in a well-drained area to avoid mud splatters. Use padding when moving stone with pry bars to protect edges.
Setting Mortar
Type N Masonry Cement is recommended for the setting bed cement mix. White Cement avoids unsightly staining. A setting bed depth of 1” to 1-1/2” is recommended.

Pool Coping Classic Pool Trim Pool Coping Genuine natural Limestone ClassicsTM Pool Coping from Indiana Limestone Company is the perfect finish to a pool. Durable and cool to the touch, few materials are as versatile, consistent, and naturally beautiful. Our Classic Pool Coping is easily trimmed to fit in the field and tough enough to stand the test of time. Produced in a standard thickness of 2-1/4” or 3”, widths of 12” or 16”, and standard lengths of 4’. Custom sizes also available.
