rcadia is a depiction of idyllic classical landscapes as often seen behind portraits of the early 17th century. It is our largest decor up to date. The origin is in Nicolas Poussin's paintings which have been used to compose this vast fresco of an imaginary Italy. Poussin spent many years south of the Alps. In fact enough of his lifespan for the Italians to claim him as their own. However, the French flavour of this great painter must be acknowledged even if the influence of Italy is evident. We have tried to modestly give a whiff of his genius in a much larger scale than he would have ever dreamed...
