Place these instructions beneath the cutlery tray MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Lacquered/painted/veneered doors Doors, drawers, etc., that have been treated with lacquer have a robust, smooth surface. For the daily cleaning of high gloss doors we recommend the “HTH high gloss polish set” or clean with a clean fibrous cloth well wrung out in warm water and then wiped dry with a dry and soft fibrous cloth. The other lacquered doors and foiled doors are to be wiped off with a clean fibrous cloth well wrung out in warm water. Dry with a dry fibrous cloth. Grease spots that cannot be removed in this way can be removed with a clean fibrous cloth well wrung out in warm water containing an ordinary, mild detergent (maximum one teaspoonful per litre of water). Dry with a dry fibrous cloth. Do not use any of the different furniture care products that are available on the market, as some of these may change the character of the surface. Detergents containing sal-ammoniac should only be used in diluted form. Coffee-makers and other equipment that emit steam should not be placed beneath wall units. In case of water drops on the door, be careful to remove those immediately. Laminated doors Laminated doors, drawers, etc., have a robust, smooth surface. Daily cleaning should be carried out with a clean cloth well wrung out in warm water. Dry with a dry cloth. Grease spots that cannot be removed in this way can be removed with a clean cloth well wrung out in warm water containing an ordinary, mild detergent (maximum one teaspoonful per litre of water). Dry with a dry cloth. Special laminate cleaner can be bought from your nearest HTH dealer. Fibrous cloths can also be used to clean laminated surfaces. Dark marks from shoes or similar can be carefully removed with benzine (NB! Fire hazard!) Dry with a dry cloth. Do not use any of the different furniture care products that are available on the market, as some of these may change the character of the surface. Detergents containing sal-ammoniac should only be used in diluted form. NB! Camphor (an ingredient in some hand lotions) may damage laminated surfaces. Coffee-makers and other equipment that emit steam should not be placed beneath wall units. In case of water drops on the door, be careful to remove those immediately. INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Shelves Shelf surfaces are made of melamine – a very robust material. Cleaning should be carried out with a cloth wrung out in warm water containing an ordinary, mild detergent (maximum one teaspoonful per litre of water). Stubborn spots can be carefully removed with methylated spirits. Laminated worktops Laminated worktops have a very hard-wearing surface, but this may be scratched if used to cut things on. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by knives or other sharp objects, such as pottery. Nor does the guarantee cover damage caused by the use of scouring powder to clean the worktop. Daily cleaning should be carried out with a cloth well wrung out in warm water containing an ordinary, mild detergent (maximum one teaspoonful per litre of water). Stubborn spots can be removed with water containing chlorine in a ratio of one part chlorine to one part water – acetone can be used as an alternative. (NB! WOODEN EDGES CANNOT STAND UP TO EITHER ACETONE OR CHLORINE) Remember adequate ventilation. Wash the worktop with warm water after cleaning with detergent. A vapour barrier should be put up if a dishwasher is installed beneath the worktop. NB! Worktop and adjacent fronts can be damaged if the dishwasher is opened before it is finished, and the hot steam thus hits the worktop and fronts. Follow the accompanying instructions in connection with maintaining special worktops. HTH provides no guarantee for worktops that have not been assembled or installed in accordance with the guidelines contained in HTH's installation instructions. Wooden edges Lacquered: Wooden edges must be treated with lacquer as required to gain the greatest benefit from them – at least once a year. This can best be carried out by sanding the wooden edges with fine sandpaper, but without sanding the laminated surface, and lacquering the edges with a dualcomponent acid-hardening lacquer (on sale at HTH). Oil treated: Edges must be treated with crude linseed oil approximately once a week for the first four to eight weeks. This can most easily be done by applying a thin layer of oil with a cloth or a brush. When the edges are saturated and will not absorb more oil, they need only be maintained with oil when required. NB! Avoid allowing the oil to come into contact with other materials (such as laminates), as it may be difficult to remove. Stainless steel: For daily cleaning use ordinary detergent – rinse with hot water. Calcium deposits can be removed with domestic vinegar or Sidol. Sidol effectively removes grease stains, calcium and water spots. A few drops on a damp cloth are sufficient to clean your stainless steel worktop. Sidol also leaves a layer of silicone that protects the surface and makes daily cleaning easier. Fruit juice may leave stains on the worktop if allowed to remain there for any length of time – always remove it immediately. Solid wooden worktops Lacquered worktops can be treated in the same way as doors. Oil-treated worktops require regular treatment with crude linseed oil during the first period after installation. Continue the treatment until the worktop is completely saturated. Then apply oil only about once a month. Remember to remove surplus oil approximately 20 minutes after each application. (NB! Danger of self ignition of oily cloths!). Clean oil-treated worktops with a cloth wrung out in warm water containing an ordinary, mild detergent (maximum one teaspoonful per litre of water) followed by thorough scrubbing in a longitudinal direction with a soft, dry cloth. A vapour barrier should be put up if a dishwasher is installed beneath the worktop. NB! Worktop and adjacent fronts can be damaged if the dishwasher is opened before it is finished, and the hot steam thus hits the worktop and fronts. Follow the accompanying instructions in connection with installing and maintaining special worktops. HTH provides no guarantee for worktops that have not been assembled or installed in accordance with the guidelines contained in HTH's installation instructions. Extra worktop The worktop should be cleaned with ordinary detergent. A thin layer of paraffin oil or Vaseline oil can be applied to the top to maintain its shiny surface. Then dry the top with a cloth. Sinks Steel sinks can normally be cleaned with a wrung out cloth. If stains arise, the sink can be cleaned with scouring powder. Excellent special products are also available on the market for cleaning steel sinks. Enamelled and cast sinks should not be cleaned with scouring powder. If stains arise on these, we recommend cleaning with water containing chlorine in a ratio of one part chlorine to one part water. Indoor climate and ventilation Do not expose the units to continuous contact with water. Splashes etc should be removed immediately. Adequate ventilation is required to avoid damage to the units from damp - especially in wet rooms and close to dishwashers (a vapour barrier should cover the joint between the edge and the chipboard above the dishwasher). Your new kitchen complies with the Danish Minstry of Housing's requirements and the requirements of the Danish Indoor Climate Association. To ensure a good indoor climate, all rooms should have an overall air replacement at least 0.5 times per hour. The kitchen should have a basic air exhaustion of 20 litres per second (72 m3/hour) through an extractor hood. The extractor hood should be equipped with a detachable and washable grease filter. Bathrooms and toilets should have an air exhaustion of at least 15 litres per second (54 m3/hour). Fresh air can be supplied through windows, doors or ventilation valves. Otherwise reference should be made to the requirements described in the building regulations (or local rules). ...you get a little extra from ...you get a little extra from
