ALE/ALU

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Halton ALE/ALU Universal Grille is designed for horizontal air supply and can also be used for exhaust. It features fixed vanes with a stable throw pattern, offering a 15° vertical deflection for ALE and no deflection for ALU. The grille is made of aluminum, providing an elegant appearance, and is detachable for easy cleaning.
Specifications: The grille is available in various sizes, with the maximum size being 1500x500 mm. It can be installed in continuous lengths up to 20 meters. The grille is suitable for wall or ceiling installation, with specific recommendations for distance from the ceiling to optimize airflow.
Materials and Finishing: The frame and vanes are made of aluminum, available in anodized, polyester-painted, or mill-finished options. Special colors and epoxy painting are also available. The installation frame and plenum box/spigot are made of galvanized steel.
Accessories: Available accessories include airflow adjustment dampers, plenums with measurement and adjustment functions, and installation frames. Specific accessory codes and descriptions are provided for balancing plenums, sound attenuation, and airflow measurement units.
Installation: The grille can be connected to circular or rectangular ducts using various methods, including clips fastening, concealed screw fastening, and installation frames. Specific instructions are provided for each method, including recommendations for ceiling installations.
Adjustment and Measurement: Airflow adjustment is facilitated by connecting the diffuser to a plenum equipped with an MSM module. The airflow rate is measured using a manometer, and adjustments are made by rotating the control spindle.
Sound and Pressure Data: Detailed data on pressure drop, throw pattern, and sound levels are provided for different grille sizes and configurations. The document includes specific examples and formulas for calculating sound levels and pressure drops.
Servicing: The grille can be removed for cleaning by gently drawing it out by the frame. Cleaning involves wiping with a damp cloth. The document provides instructions for servicing grilles with balancing plenums and measurement modules.
Suggested Specifications: The document outlines specifications for grille installation, including options for sound insulation and airflow measurement. Product codes and examples are provided for ordering specific configurations and accessories.

Concealed screw fastening (option) Installation The grille is connected to the circular duct using either a PRI balancing plenum or a BDR plenum or alternatively directly to the rectangular duct using the IF installation frame. Clips fastening (standard) Concealed screw fastening is possible when the grille is installed with an installation frame (IF) or a BDR plenum, though not with a PRI balancing plenum. The grilles are supplied with clips fastening as Holes for screws are provided in the BDR. standard. Clips fastening is used with PRI, BDR and IF . For ceiling installation concealed screw...

K factor for installations with different safety distances In order to enable airflow adjustment and measurement of airflow rate it is recommended that you connect the diffuser to the BDR plenum or PRI balancing plenum equipped with the MSM module. The supply flow rate is determined by using the MSM measurement and adjustment module. Detach the grille and pass the tubes and control spindle through the grille. Measure the differential pressure using a manometer. The flow rate is calculated using the formula below. Adjust the airflow rate by rotating the control spindle until the desired setting...

Sound power level with od damper Use of an OD opposite blade damper, will result in increased pressure loss. The resulting increase in sound level is computed from the selection chart value and the formula below: LpA = DLp + LpA Adjusted pressure drop Pressure drop in selection chart Example : ALE-1000x150 + OD/ALE qv = 300 l/s LpA = 31 dB(A) without damper OD/ALE DPs= 50 Pa (desired pressure drop) Kp = 50/11 = 4.5 LpA = 31 + 14 = 45 dB(A) ALE/ALU - Universal Grille 6
