DEMU Fixing Anchors

Product catalog summary
Overview: This document provides comprehensive technical information on DEMU fixing anchors, focusing on T-FIXX® and bolt anchors. It covers specifications, installation procedures, design concepts, and material considerations for use in concrete structures.
Specifications: The document details ETA approvals for T-FIXX® anchors (ETA-13/0222) and bolt anchors (ETA-13/0401), specifying dimensions for T-FIXX® anchors (Ø d 25 - 32 mm) and bolt anchors (Ø d 12 - 20 mm).
Installation Procedures: Installation involves a two-phase concreting process, with the connector bar HBS-05-A initially hand-screwed and then tightened with a tool. The self-locking nature of the connection negates the need for a torque wrench.
Integration and Support: Since January 2012, DEMU Metaalindustrie B.V. has been integrated into HALFEN, enhancing production, sales, and logistics. Technical support is available through HALFEN's representatives and online resources.
Systematic Fixing Solutions: Application examples include balcony railings, bridge railings, and stadium seats. Anchors are categorized by load capacity and application scenarios, such as high tension loads and temporary fixings.
Design Concept: The design adheres to the CEN/TS 1992-4 standard, standardizing fastening dimensioning in concrete. Verification methods for tensile and transverse stresses ensure compliance with European standards.
Material and Corrosion Protection: Materials include stainless steel for T-FIXX® anchors, with corrosion protection measures like zinc and hot-dip galvanizing for various environmental exposures.
Corrosion Protection and Material Specifications: Stainless steel (A4) Class 3 is used for medium corrosion exposure, suitable for external atmospheric exposure and damp conditions. Zinc galvanizing (GV) and hot-dip galvanizing (FV) are discussed for corrosion protection, with specific applications and limitations.
Product Range Changes: Since January 1, 2012, T-FIXX® anchors have replaced certain socket anchors, offering higher performance and cost efficiency, with improved delivery times and production efficiency through CNC methods.
Technical Information and Software: Technical specifications for T-FIXX® anchors include dimensions and design loads for tension. Calculation software for load capacity is available for download.
Anchor Descriptions: Detailed descriptions of T-FIXX® GV and A4 anchors, and bolt anchors 1988 GV, FV, and A4, are provided, including specifications like dimensions, design loads, and material composition.
Technical Specifications and Procedures: Specifications for bar and socket anchors focus on dimensions, design loads, and material properties. Bar anchors are available in models like 1988-S GV, 4030 GV/FV, 1554 GV/FV, and 1558 GV/FV, with specific dimensions and load capacities.
Design Loads and Standards: Design loads for tension are specified for each anchor type, with compliance to EN 1992-1-1, chapter 8.4. Bonding strength depends on the concrete's strength class.
Socket Anchors: VEMO socket anchors are light-duty fixing anchors for temporary fixings, made from zinc galvanized or stainless steel tubes with metric ISO threads.
Accessories: Accessories such as nailing plates and fixing pins aid in installation. Instructions include hammering the fixing pin into formwork, screwing on the anchor, pouring concrete, and removing formwork after curing.
Tables and Data: Tables detail dimensions and design loads for various anchor models, specifying parameters like nominal diameter, length, stress area, and maximum tension loads, crucial for selecting appropriate anchors based on project requirements.

Systematic Fixing Solutions The advantages at a glance EMU Fixing anchors with internal thread are intended to be used for permanent anchorages under predominantly static actions or quasi-static actions in reinforced and unreinforced normal weight concrete from strength class C20/25 to C50/60. They may be used in cracked or non-cracked concrete for transmission of tensile loads, shear loads or a combination of both. The load behaviour – i.e. the load capacity as a function of different concrete classes – of certain types of T-FIXX® is compared with the cor- responding types of DEMU Bolt anchors 1988, as illustrated in the diagrams. A detailed calculation of the load behaviour (with all its project specific influences such as the concrete...

GENERAL TECHNIC AL INFORMATION Material and Corrosion Protec tion Corrosion protection Galvanising: Zinc galvanising (GV) Zinc galvanising (chromium VI free) with a passivation treatment is used. The coating thickness is approximately 5–8 μm. After galvanising the products are dipped in a bichromate solution for passivation. The corrosion resistance is limited and depends on the immediate environment. All threaded zinc galvanized products (T-FIXX® anchors, bolt anchors, bar anchors) have a yellow tint. Therefore the anchors are easily to distinguish from stainless steel types. This does not apply...

GENERAL TECHNIC AL INFORMATION Changes in the Produc t Range Changes since 1 st January 2012 The new DEMU anchor, the T-FIXX®, became available on 1st January 2012. It is not a socket anchor and it is not a bolt anchor – it is a clever combination of both, and can be used as a replacement for either product type. T-FIXX® can replace many other socket anchors • In terms of load capacity T-FIXX® can replace all types of socket anchors of the same dimensions and because of its higher performance it is possible that a T-FIXX® of a smaller (thread) M-size can replace larger socket anchors! This will...
