Back in those days, saddle makers were also mattress makers. LATE 1800 The family moved to Hed and Pehr Adolf’s son Per Thure Janson became a saddle maker. Stuffing is done manually and distributed evenly throughout. Layer upon layer of genuine horsehair, cotton and wool is placed by hand. This takes a lot of time, but it’s well worth it.
