Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document provides an overview of The Hadley Group's ceiling systems, highlighting their innovative UltraSTEEL™ process. The Hadley Group is a prominent European manufacturer known for its cold rolled sections and allied products, emphasizing quality, service, and technical expertise.
UltraSTEEL™ Process
The UltraSTEEL™ process is a patented method that enhances the surface characteristics of roll-formed steel, resulting in stronger sections. This involves working steel in strips with two mating rolls to produce a dimpled surface and ribbing effect, increasing the material's effective thickness without additional material. Key benefits include increased tensile strength, improved load carrying capacity, and cost savings due to reduced material thickness.
Technical Advantages
  • Work Hardening: The process strain hardens the steel surface, allowing it to yield at higher loads.
  • Stress Distribution: Alters stress distribution within plate elements, increasing load capacity.
  • Increased Tensile Strength: The entire surface area is work hardened, enhancing tensile strength.
  • Fire and Acoustic Performance: Improved fire resistance and reduced noise transmission.
UltraGRID™ Ceiling Systems
UltraGRID™ systems are manufactured using the UltraSTEEL™ process, suitable for various applications and compatible with different ceiling tiles. Components include Main and Cross Tees, Wall and Shadow Angles, and suspension accessories. The systems are designed for easy installation and improved structural performance, adhering to BS, EN, and ASTM standards.
Specifications and Load Capacity
The document provides detailed specifications for different UltraGRID™ systems, including metric and imperial measurements. It outlines the maximum gross ceiling weights based on hanger spacing and component specifications, ensuring optimal load distribution and structural integrity.
Conclusion
The Hadley Group's ceiling systems, enhanced by the UltraSTEEL™ process, offer significant advantages in strength, cost efficiency, and performance. These systems are designed to meet high standards of quality and reliability, making them suitable for a wide range of construction projects.
FlairLINE™ Linear Ceiling Systems
  • Applications: Suitable for commercial, recreational, retail, and residential developments. Consult technical department for aggressive atmospheres.
  • Construction & Storage: Panels are packed in protective cartons and should be stored dry and treated as fragile.
  • Installation: Should be installed at second fix stage. Main carriers fixed at 1200mm centers. Stainless steel hangers may be needed in high humidity areas.
  • Appearance: Panels are cold roll-formed from aluminum or steel with a low gloss paint finish. Stock colors include white and mirror finishes.
  • Performance: Structural deflection limit is 1/450th of span. Fire propagation class “O” as per B.S.476: Part 6.
  • Durability: Can last the life of the building if maintained properly.
  • Wind Uplift: Tested to withstand wind speeds over 100mph.
  • Maintenance: Clean with a damp sponge and mild detergent. Anodized panels require a soft dry cloth.
XtraSPAN CoverFAST System
  • Applications: Suitable for large areas like retail environments, airports, and office buildings. Effective in kitchens, hospitals, and clean rooms.
  • Components: Includes ceiling panels, trunking section, infill strip, shadow edge trim, and hold down clips.
  • Installation: Panels are laid on a shadow edge trim or trunking section and secured with clips.
  • Performance: Structural deflection limit is 1/450th of span. Fire propagation class “O” and surface spread of flame class “1”.
  • Maintenance: Panels can be cleaned with a damp sponge and mild detergent.
Ceiling Furring System
  • Applications: Suitable for commercial, recreational, and residential developments. Provides sound insulation and fire protection.
  • Fire Testing: Tested to BS 476: Part 23: 1987, providing 40 minutes of fire protection.
  • Installation: Perimeter angle or channel fixed to walls. Primary channel suspended at 1200mm centers. Furring channels fixed at 450mm or 600mm centers.

Ultra 2 The flexibility of the cold rolled forming process has allowed the Hadley Group to adopt a particular design philosophy. This philosophy enhances the flexibility of the process to produce an optimised product. The optimum design for cold rolled steel product can be one that satisfies all the aspirations of both the customer and the manufacturer. These new optimised products are achieved by modifying the shape and/or the surface characteristics of the material incorporated in the profile. The design philosophy has enabled the Hadley Group to obtain the maximum potential from the material...

DEFINITION The UltraSTEEL™ process involves working steel in strips with two mating rolls, which produce a dimpled surface and ribbing effect across the surface of the material. During the process, the effective thickness of the material is increased to that of the original thickness plus that of the ribbing. This is achieved by stretching the form into material and not a result of folding in the ribs, which would require extra material. 3 THE THEORY Since the UltraSTEEL™ process involves working steel in strips with two mating rolls, which, produce a dimpled surface and ribbing effect across...
