Product catalog summary
Overview: The document serves as a technical catalogue for the BBA and BBT Extra Soundproof Rectangular VAV Units, which are designed for airflow control in HVAC systems. These units are suitable for both supply and exhaust applications and come in seven sizes, supporting flow rates from 75 to 6000 m³/h.
Specifications:
  • Construction: The units are constructed from galvanized steel with aluminum differential pressure sensors. The casing and blade damper meet Class C3 air tightness standards according to EN12237 and EN1751.
  • Dimensions: Available lengths are 1200 mm, 1400 mm, and 1800 mm, with heights ranging from 255 mm to 455 mm and widths from 250 mm to 700 mm.
  • Materials: Standard materials include galvanized steel with mineral wool insulation for the casing and melamine for baffles.
Performance:
  • Airflow Control: Features an aluminum differential pressure sensor and a standard actuator (Grada G1) for volume flow control.
  • Velocity: The minimum air velocity is 1.0 m/s, and the maximum is 10 m/s.
  • Sound Attenuation: The units provide excellent sound attenuation due to mineral wool casing insulation and internal baffles, with additional external sound attenuators available.
Actuator Details:
  • Input/Output Signals: Operates with 2-10V or 0-10V signals, with an operating voltage of 24 VAC/VDC +/-20%.
  • Operating Conditions: Suitable for temperatures from 0 to +50°C, with an IP 42 rating.
Measurement and Accuracy:
  • Flow Rate Measurement: The nominal volume flow rate (V̇nom) is defined at a sensor pressure difference of 250 Pa, with a measurement error of less than 5% for duct velocities above 1.2 m/s.
  • Installation Recommendations: Accurate measurements require a straight upstream duct section, with a minimum distance of twice the inlet diameter for upstream 90° bends.
Noise Levels: Detailed noise level data is provided for various sizes and flow rates, indicating sound pressure levels (Lp) and sound power levels (Lw) across different frequencies.
Procedures: The document includes instructions for setting up the BA/BT actuator, including diagnostics and control readouts. It explains how to activate minimum and maximum airflow values and operate the motor.
Wiring Diagrams: Wiring diagrams are included for connecting the controllers, detailing positions for forced control and the operation of VAV and CAV systems.
Factory Settings: Factory settings for the GRADA G1 actuator are outlined, specifying airflow rates corresponding to different duct air velocities. The mode of operation (2-10 V DC) and construction options (left or right-hand side) are described.
Ordering Information: Instructions on how to order the units are provided, including details on factory settings and available configurations for supply and exhaust systems.

EXTRA SOUNDPROOF RECTANGULAR VAV UNIT BBA BBT MEASUREMENT OF THE VOLUMETRIC AIR FLOW RATE - GRADA G1 ACTUATOR • the setpoint value signal Y depends on the chosen mode, i.e. 0-10 V DC or 2-10 V DC. The lower and upper limit correspond to V̇min and V̇max respectively. Speciality of input mode 2-10 V DC: in the range of Y = 0-0.8 V DC the override command Close will be detected. • the output/feedback signal U represents the actual flow and follows the selected mode of operation (0-10 V DC or 2-10 V DC). The signal U is proportional to the selected V̇nom value. • V̇nom: nominal volume flow rate ([m³/h]...
