EMBROIDERING IS AN ART. ITS VISIBLE WORKS OF ART ARE EMBROIDERIES. From the embroidery strongholds of the Orient, monks brought the art of embroidering to Europe. Wars were fought over embroideries, women seduced, and embroidery artists abducted. Embroidering is the most artful kind of altering textile surfaces with holes, stones, threads, yarns, sequins, acids, pins and scissors such that a new piece of art results. This idea and this Vorarlberg tradition were taken up by the Glas Marte designers to develop the new LAMIMARTEX – Textiles Under Glass collection.
