Hygiene and Comfort, from Wean-to-Finish HeartWood™ pen mats are designed for single use during the wean-to-finish stage. Because they are made of wood and are disposable, they help provide a comfortable and hygienic environment. Engineered to last 7 to 21 days*, HeartWood mats help eliminate potentially harmful pathogens that can accumulate during the wean-to-finish stage. And because wood is an excellent insulator, HeartWood mats help moderate pen temperature and allow the pigs to stay more comfortable whether it's hot or cold outside. HeartWood compostable pen mats are lightweight, easy to install and easy to replace. The single-use mats save production time because unlike rubber mats, there's no need to disinfect and store between cycles. HeartWood mats are available in two standard sizes - 48" X 66" and 48" x 96". Custom sizes are also available to match your production needs. We use trees, a renewable natural resource, to manufacture HeartWood pen mats. The wood used to make our mats is sourced through a system that's third-party certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) fiber procurement standard.
