Product catalog summary
Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SDI)
SDI is an ancient and widely used method for wastewater purification through percolation. It involves the downward seepage of wastewater onto a percolation bed made of draining materials, fostering a microbiological environment similar to natural conditions. The system supports aerobic microorganisms, enhancing purification efficiency in a compact space. Initial phases may see reduced efficiency until a biological film forms.

DRENING® System
The DRENING® system is designed for areas without sewer connections, offering advantages over traditional methods, such as reduced trench length, increased percolation volume, and low environmental impact. It is made from recyclable high-density polyethylene and is suitable for various wastewater types, including urban, domestic, and industrial.

Applications and Installation
DRENING® is ideal for isolated areas not served by sewer systems. Installation involves trench excavation, geological assessment, and laying of the DRENING® system with proper ventilation to support aerobic bacteria. The system is adaptable to different terrains and population equivalents.

Technical Features
The system's design complies with European directive 91/271/CEE, requiring primary treatment systems like septic tanks. Secondary purification systems are recommended for further pollutant reduction.

Phyto-Purification
Phyto-purification uses plants for natural wastewater treatment, suitable for small and medium-sized applications. It integrates well into the environment and handles irregular pollution loads. Recommended plants include Phragmites Australis and Typha latifolia, which support bacterial films essential for purification.

Customer Service and Additional Resources
Technical drawings and specifications are available on the Geoplast website. The system can be adapted for sloping land with specific installation techniques.

SUBSURFACE DRIP IRRIGATION Purification by percolation, also called subsurface drip irrigation (SDI), is one of the oldest and most commonly used systems. Its function is based on the regular seepage of the waste waters, from the top downwards, onto a so-called “percolation bed” composed of multiple layers of draining material (pebbles, plastic material etc.), that grants the reproduction of the same microbiological environment found in nature. In a natural terrain, even if very porous and well drained, a relatively small quantity is needed for the bacterial mass that elaborates and transforms...

ADVANTAGES IN REGARDS TO TRADITIONAL METHODS -50% TRENCH LENGTH • INCRASE IN VOLUME and in the percolation surfaces with an increase in disposal speed. drening® reflue SYSTEM • UP TO 50% REDUCTION IN TRENCH LENGTH compared to the tube DRENING® and gravel system. • REDUCED EXCAVATION DEPTH with corresponding upgrading of the safety distance from the level of water table. • LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT; MAXIMUM INFILTRATION CAPACITY thanks to the completely open bottom. • INCREASED CIRCULATING AIR QUANTITY, required to guarantee the survival of the aerobic bacteria that decompose the organic substances...

INSTALLATION 1. Excavation of the trench 90-100 cm deep, at least 90 cm wide at the base, with sloping of the walls in accordance to the nature of the terrain. NB: the distance between the bottom of the trench and the upper level of the table must be no less than one metre. Original Land 30 2. Assessment of the geological characteristics of the land: if particularly yielding or poorly drained it is recommended to fill the trench bed with gravel, grain particle size 20-40 mm, to a height of around 10 cm. Backfill 40 3. Laying of DRENING® in the centre of the trench, with circa 0.5% inclination....

PHYTO-PURIFICATION Today phyto-purification technology, that resorts to the use of natural purification procedures for treating civil waste, represents a widespread and consolidated choice world wide. This technique is a valid plant solution and an excellent choice for the poorly populated centres and, in general, for small and medium usage not connected to the sewerage network. The system allows extraordinary insertion into the environment and in the landscape and the management of the irregular pollution loads. This, even with pollution points not differently treatable that are verified in...
