ELECTRIC PREHEATER

Product catalog summary
Introduction
This document is a user manual for the Genvex Electric Preheater, version dated 07.07.2014. It outlines the installation and operational guidelines for ensuring frost protection in Genvex heat exchangers through the use of an electric preheater.
Specifications
The electric preheater is essential for maintaining a high recovery ratio and frost protection. It is installed on the air intake duct before the unit. The preheater's heating capacity can be adjusted by changing terminal connections.
Installation Instructions
Installation must be performed by an authorized electrician. The preheater is connected to switch H3 (230 V) and the ground bus. Specific sensor connections differ between the Optima 250 and Optima 100 models. For Optima 250, a new sensor replaces the existing one at switch L3, terminals 3 and 4. For Optima 100, the sensor (T9) connects to switch L2, terminals 3 and 4.
Operational Guidelines
To minimize energy consumption, select the lowest possible output while ensuring the exhaust air temperature does not drop unnecessarily. The supply air fan will reduce speed when the exhaust air temperature approaches 0 °C. The outdoor air temperature should be approximately -3 °C after passing through the preheater to prevent this.
Connection Diagram
The document includes a connection diagram illustrating the temperature rise of outdoor air provided by the heater and the air volume in m3/h. The diagram also shows various power outputs (450W, 700W, 1100W, 1800W) and their respective connections.

ELECTRIC PREHEATER-2

Electric Preheater Installation (only by an authorised electrician) The high recovery ratio and the need to ensure frost protection for the Genvex heat exchanger require the installation of an electric preheater. The preheater is installed on the air intake duct right before the unit (see illustration). An illustration of a preheat installed on a Genvex unit is provided below. See also the electric preheater “Installation Instructions”. Optima 250 The preheater is connected to switch H3 (230 V) and to the ground bus. The existing sensor (T3) is removed from switch L3, terminal 3 and 4. A new...
