‘TIERRAS’ COLLECTION ‘Tierras’ is our 2016 collection that encompasses a variety of qualities and textures. The collection features re-workings of historical elements taken from the decorative arts, such as tiles of different origins and periods, creating an impressive geometric combination in a printed design. Other new geometric prints with a variety of motifs, their scales and colours are presented on 100% linen ground. Refined double width linens offer broad options of use as light curtains, featuring geometric motifs, several of them with ikat weave technique. Inspired by the 1960s and pop art, jacquard velvets are available only in black and white. The wool upholsteries represent two geometric motifs alongside a richly coloured semi plain in bouclé quality that coordinates with the colour palettes of other designs. The collection is complemented with two plains in a broad array of colourways: one of them recalls hand-woven textiles and the other one is a slightly textured cotton in bright shad

The images of tiles are reminiscent of ceramic trade in Europe that appeared to counteract the monopoly of China blue and white porcelain. In Holland and Portugal manufactures were the first to produce this type of tiles in blue and white.
