Il le fait «sans le vouloir» car sa matière, fournie et variée, diffère suivant la position d’où il est vu: mince et brillant dans le sens du velours, mat et épais à contresens. Image dans un sens, objet dans l’autre. Mais le tapis a une autre façon d’aborder la question du volume. Marcel Zelmanovitch consacre une grande partie de son activité à la création de tapis.
