Plano™ is a series of tables designed by Pelikan Design. The design is the result of Pelikan Design taking the brief from Fritz Hansen literally and to the extreme. Originally, the brief from Fritz Hansen was to create a dining table with a light expression simply consisting of a surface and 4 legs. Pelikan Design came up with Plano and the signature feature of the tables, the ultrathin and almost “floating” tabletop. Indeed, a light expression, a surface and four almost superfluous legs.

pelikan design Pelikan Design partnered by Niels Gammelgaard, born in 1944 and Lars Mathiesen, born 1950. They are both architects specializing in industrial design. They favour functional and unpretentious idioms that are minimalist, yet expressive. Characteristic of Gammelgaard and Mathiesen is that they work very broadly in many different areas without losing sight of the issue. ENVIRONMENT & TESTS The steel base and the pressure moulded zinc edges can be dismantled for recycling. Table tops made in lacquer or with synthetic laminate are combustible.
