Product catalog summary
Introduction
Plano™ is a series of tables designed by Pelikan Design for Fritz Hansen, characterized by an ultra-thin, almost floating tabletop supported by four legs. The design emphasizes a light expression, adhering closely to the original brief.

Environmental Considerations & Testing
The tables feature a steel base and pressure-moulded zinc edges that can be dismantled for recycling. Tabletops in lacquer or synthetic laminate are combustible, while glass tops are recyclable. The tables meet ISO/DIS 8019 standards for strength and durability and ISO 7172 for stability.

Warranty Information
Standard goods come with a five-year warranty against manufacturing defects, excluding leather, special materials, and customer-specified products. An extended limited warranty of 10 years is available upon online registration within three months of purchase.

Design Details
Designed by Pelikan Design in 2000, the tables are available in square and rectangular shapes with finishes in white laminate or white underlacquered glass. The table tops are 13 mm thick for laminate and 10 mm for glass. The base is mirror-chromed steel with cylindrical legs that can be adjusted in height by 30 mm.

Plano-1

Plano™ is a series of tables designed by Pelikan Design. The design is the result of Pelikan Design taking the brief from Fritz Hansen literally and to the extreme. Originally, the brief from Fritz Hansen was to create a dining table with a light expression simply consisting of a surface and 4 legs. Pelikan Design came up with Plano and the signature feature of the tables, the ultrathin and almost “floating” tabletop. Indeed, a light expression, a surface and four almost superfluous legs.

pelikan design Pelikan Design partnered by Niels Gammelgaard, born in 1944 and Lars Mathiesen, born 1950. They are both architects specializing in industrial design. They favour functional and unpretentious idioms that are minimalist, yet expressive. Characteristic of Gammelgaard and Mathiesen is that they work very broadly in many different areas without losing sight of the issue.
