Introduction
The Grand Prix™ chair was introduced by Fritz Hansen in 1957 at the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Copenhagen. It gained significant recognition at the Triennale in Milan the same year, receiving the Grand Prix award. Initially, the chair featured a wooden base, but it is now available with both wooden and chromed steel bases.

Upholstery Options
The chair offers a variety of upholstery options in both fabrics and leathers. Fabrics include Canvas, Hallingdal, Divina, Divina MD, Divina Melange, Tonus, Milani, Remix, and Comfort. Leather options are Basic, Soft, Rustic, Natural, White, Optical White, Elegance, and Sense.

Environmental Considerations & Testing
Unupholstered chairs are coated with polyurethane lacquer to prevent formaldehyde emissions. All parts of the chair can be dismantled for environmental reasons. The chair is tested for strength, durability, and stability according to several standards, including EN 13761, EN 1728, BS 4875, EN 1022, ISO 7174-1, and BS 7945.

Warranty Information
The standard warranty covers five years against manufacturing defects, excluding leather and fabrics ordered as custom materials. An extended limited warranty is available upon online registration within three months of purchase. The extended warranty covers five years for fabric and basic leather, and ten years for the base, shell, and certain leather types.

Design and Description
Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1957, the Grand Prix™ chair is part of a series of laminated veneer chairs. The shell is made from pressure-molded veneer with beech as the inner veneer and options for oak or walnut as the outer veneer. It is available in various colors and finishes, with options for front or full upholstery. The base can be chromed steel or wood, with accessories available for stacking and transport.

Variations & Dimensions
Model 3130 features a chromed base, while Model 4130 has wooden legs. Both models have specific dimensions for seat height, overall height, width, and depth.

Arne Jacobsen, a renowned architect and designer, collaborated with Fritz Hansen starting in 1934. His notable works include the Ant™ and Series 7™ chairs, as well as designs for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.
