Environmental Considerations & Testing
The Ant™ chairs are coated with polyurethane lacquer to prevent formaldehyde emissions. They are environmentally friendly as all parts can be dismantled. The chairs are tested for strength, durability, and stability according to standards EN 13761, EN 1728, BS 4875, EN 1022, ISO 7174-1, and BS 7945.

Warranty
Standard goods come with a five-year warranty against manufacturing defects, excluding leather, special materials, and customer-specified products. Normal wear and tear are not covered. Wicker and lamps have a two-year warranty. An extended limited warranty of 10 years is available if registered online within three months of purchase.

Design
Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1952, the Ant™ series features laminated veneer chairs manufactured by Fritz Hansen. The shell is made of pressure-molded veneer with an inner beech veneer and nine outer veneer options. It is available in two finishes: coloured ash or lacquered in nine colors. The base consists of 14 mm chromed steel tubes with 3 or 4 legs.

Variations & Dimensions
The Ant™ chair comes in two models:
  • 3100: 3 legs, stackable, chromed base, seat height 44 cm, total height 78 cm, width 51 cm, depth 48 cm.
  • 3101: 4 legs, stackable, chromed base, seat height 44 or 46.5 cm, total height 78 or 80.5 cm, width 51 cm, depth 48 cm.

Arne Jacobsen's collaboration with Fritz Hansen began in 1934, with the Ant™ marking a breakthrough in 1952. Jacobsen's designs, including the Egg™, Swan™, and Series 3300™, have become internationally recognized.

ARNE JACOBSEN 1902-1971 The cooperation between Arne Jacobsen and Fritz Hansen dates back to 1934. But it was in 1952 the break-through came with the Ant™. It was succeeded by the Series 7™ in 1955. This propelled his and Fritz Hansen’s names into furniture history. Arne Jacobsen was very productive both as an architect and as a designer. At the end of the 50’s Arne Jacobsen designed the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, and for that project the Egg™, the Swan™, the Swan Sofa™ and Series 3300™.
