The AS-8 is a 2-way wideband passive speaker with a bass-reflex design. It features a coaxial 8'' woofer and a 1.5'' compression driver made of neodymium. The frequency response ranges from 70 Hz to 20 kHz with a tolerance of +/- 6dB. The speaker has an efficiency of 94 dB SPL at 1W/1m and a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms. It offers a conical dispersion of 100° at 2kHz and 90° at 8 kHz. The power rating is 250 W AES and 1,000 W peak, with an amplifier power requirement of 400 to 600 W. The maximum sound pressure level at 1 meter is 124 dB SPL.
The enclosure is made of cast aluminum with a powder-coated fine textured paint. The front is removable and features an acoustic cloth on a perforated aluminum sheet. Connections are made via 2 x Speakon NL4 connectors.
The standard colors are Black RAL 9011 and White RAL 9016, with options for any RAL color. There are 20 choices of grille cloth colors available. The rigging system includes a bracket, and compatible subwoofers are AS-S10 and AS-S24.
The dimensions of the speaker are 342 x 327 x 203 mm, with a net weight of 8.9 kg. Shipping dimensions are 380 x 365 x 270 mm, and the gross weight is 9.6 kg.
