marla bench Chair Marla was born of the observation that we often sit at a chair because it happens to be placed wherever we want to sit down when, in fact, we would much rather be tucked up cosily on the sofa. This turned into the idea of designing seating furniture which combines the portability of a chair with the comfort of a sofa. Quilted into generously proportioned blocks, Marla´s soft padding is the kind you’ll want to just slump into; and when you do, you’ll become enveloped in its comforting warmth and snug softness – almost as if you’d just put on a down jacket. Available with a delicate harp-string wire frame or on wood and with armrests either at full or half height, the Marla product family also extends to cover an armchair and a sofa. birgit hoffmann & christoph kahleyss Birgit Hoffmann (*1968) and Christoph Kahleyss (*1963) both studied industrial design in Kiel.
