ColorCore® by Formica Group is a high-performance decorative laminate featuring a homogeneous solid color throughout its 1.3 mm thickness. This unique characteristic eliminates the "dark lines" typically seen on laminate edges, enabling seamless surface and edge treatments. The product supports creative applications such as sandblasting, engraving, carving, and routing, allowing architects and designers to create distinctive and layered 3D surfaces.

Design and Texture Options

The ColorCore range offers an expanded palette with 5 new decors and 8 surface finishes, including 6 new textures. These finishes provide a variety of tactile and visual effects, from the modern pinstripe of Rigato™ to the fluid carving of Sculpted™, the subtle luxury of AR Plus® premium gloss, and the award-winning Plex™ texture. This versatility ensures compatibility with other Formica® products and natural materials, enhancing design freedom.

Durability and Applications

With a thickness of 1.3 mm, ColorCore laminates provide superior strength and durability, making them suitable for high-traffic and heavy-wear applications such as countertops, point-of-sale units, doors, and work surfaces. The Matte 58 texture specifically enhances wear resistance and minimizes the visibility of chips and scratches. AR Plus® technology offers a high-gloss finish with twice the surface performance of standard gloss laminates, providing excellent resistance to scuffs and abrasions.

Environmental Credentials

ColorCore laminates have achieved Greenguard™ Indoor Air Quality Certification, indicating low emissions and suitability for indoor environments. Formica Group is committed to sustainability, holding the Carbon Trust’s Carbon Reduction Label and FSCtm certification (70% Mix), reflecting responsible sourcing and reduced carbon footprint.

Color Range and Codes

The product line includes a wide range of colors such as White (CC0949), Polar White (CC2255), Diamond Black (CC2253), Pumice (CC7858), Spectrum Yellow (CC7940), Antique White (CC7932), Dark Chocolate (CC2200), and others. Each color is associated with NCS® and RAL® codes for reference. Note that exact color matching with other Formica Colors may vary; sample comparison is recommended before specification.

Usage Recommendations and Limitations

While ColorCore laminates are highly durable, the Diamond Black AR Plus® finish may show wear more readily than lighter gloss colors. The product is ideal for creative and functional applications requiring both aesthetic appeal and robustness.
