Operating Instructions
- Lighting the Stove: Ensure all components are correctly placed and packaging is removed. Open air controls fully, use newspaper and tinder to start the fire, and adjust air controls as needed.
- Wood Burning Tips: Maintain small, hot fires for efficiency, avoid overstacking fuel, and adjust air controls gradually. Keep the top air control slightly open to maintain the air shield system.
- Running Temperatures: Monitor flue gas temperatures with a thermometer, aiming for 150°C - 300°C. Avoid temperatures below 150°C to prevent tar buildup and above 300°C to prevent overheating.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Regularly clean glass, use seasoned wood, and remove ashes only when cool. Regularly check and maintain the stove and chimney.
- Building Regulations: Comply with local and European standards, consult a chimney sweep, and ensure adequate ventilation.
- Positioning and Clearances: Ensure the floor supports the stove's weight, install on a non-combustible hearth, and maintain specified clearances from combustible materials.
- Chimney Requirements: Inspect and clean the chimney, ensure suitability for the stove, and perform necessary tests for gas tightness and draft.

Chimney Draught Regulation: Ensure the chimney draught can be regulated. A damper must not completely close the pipe; a minimum of 20% of the total opening must remain free.
Flue Connection: The stove offers both rear and top flue connections. Cover the unused outlet with a flue blanking plate, secured with a clamp. Seal flue connections with fire cement or a high-temperature rope seal. A typical installation requires a register plate and a 5” flue pipe.
Operational Problems:
- Blackened Glass: Caused by damp wood, insufficient air intake, or low stove temperature. Use wood with less than 20% moisture and adjust the top air control.
- Smoke in Room: Avoid opening the door with high flames, check chimney performance, and ensure flue dampers are open.
- Uncontrollable Combustion: May result from a damaged door seal or excessive chimney draft. Replace seals or fit a draft stabilizer.
Firewood Grades: Wood types are graded based on quality and burning characteristics. Oak and Ash are high-quality firewoods (Grade 4), while Alder and Pine are lower quality (Grade 1).
Warranty: The stove comes with a two-year guarantee covering defects from faulty workmanship. Replaceable parts like glass, door rope seals, and fire brick linings are not covered.
