The Oru Collection was initially designed for the ICFF Studio/Bernhardt competition in 2012. The aim was to create something unique, inspired by the art of origami, transforming flat sheets into beautiful forms. The breakthrough came from combining cutting and folding techniques with traditional spun metal shapes, leading to a distinctive design.
Development and Production
After extensive brainstorming and prototyping, the concept was validated and full-scale samples were produced locally in the US. The metal spinning was done in Ohio, anodizing in New Jersey, and assembly in New York. The collection was well-received at ICFF 2012, leading to a collaboration with Fabbian, known for their high-quality Italian craftsmanship.

Vim & Vigor Design Inc. è stata fondata nel 2009 da Irina Kozlovskaya e Aaron Tsui. Aaron e Irina si sono conosciuti durante gli studi di Disegno Industriale presso la Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
