Profiled Sheeting Variances in Profile Sheeting Natural Grey Sheets Farmscape sheets There may be variances in the colour of natural grey sheets as they are manufactured from different batches of raw materials that may also vary in colour. Differences in the surface texture can also affect the visual appearance. Farmscape sheets have a coloured pigment applied to the surface of natural grey wet flat material to providing a subtle variance to the tone inherent in any cementitious product this appearance will blend with almost any landscape. The sheets have a matt-coloured finish that avoids the shiny appearance of painted material. The pigment has no effect on the performance of the product, and as with natural grey sheets there may be colour differences between batches of material. The intensity of the colour will gradually reduce with time, but the sheets will maintain their mellow appearance as lichens start to grow on the surface. Painted sheets Any paints used on fibre cement sheets should be vapour permeable and alkali resistant. The factory applied paint is a water-based acrylic sprayed on the pre-heated sheet and then oven-dried. Although the paint may provide some protection from chemicals and exposure to weathering, its main function is to provide a coloured finish to a roof. The paint application provides a smoother surface that does not hold dirt so readily as natural grey sheets, thereby inhibiting the growth of lichens on the surface. Gloss finishes can highlight any surface differences with he material. There may appear to be slight differences in the colour of painted products, caused by the differences in the surface texture of the base sheet. The fittings for Farmscape will not have a pigment applied to the surface but a light paint coating with no gloss, giving the same matt finish, please be aware the fittings for farmscape will weather at a different rate to the sheets.
