GATHER Mould Molde GATHER ESCOFET's long-standing focus on modular urban elements found a perfect partner in Foster + Partners Industrial Design. The final stages of this collaboration involve the making and shipping of the finished product. ESCOFET is renowned worldwide for its manufacturing excellence, offering a range of colours and finishes that are second to none. The section as the project’s origin El perfil como origen del proyecto GATHER’s cross-section acts as the starting point for the collection. Its slender shape is shared across all five elements – concave, convex, linear, left, and right end limits – thus enabling complete modularity. The profile’s design is elegantly reduced to its essence: a seat, a backrest, a headrest. Given its minimal aesthetic, ESCOFET and Foster + Partners Industrial Design worked closely to address the structural challenges presented by such a delicate design. First, the horizontal cross-section of TIERS underwent several iterations to ensure comfort, grip and drainage. Secondly, the transition between the vertical and horizontal surfaces was carefully designed to be seamless and structurally sound.
