Materials There are 2 base materials for manufactured climbing holds. PolyUrethane. Urethane is very durable; not prone to cracking or chipping. Well suited for all types of walls, especially highly featured walls. Because of this durability, our holds can be formed into more unique shapes. YELLOW Polyester. Polyester is the traditional material for holds; texture is dryer; more rigid than urethane; suitable for flat featured and plywood walls.
