Product catalog summary
Overview: The document is a technical file for brass, a copper and zinc alloy known for its industrial applications due to its machinability, corrosion resistance, and ductility. Emac® manufactures brass profiles through extrusion, ensuring precise dimensional tolerance.
Technical Features: Brass is used in various industries, including jewelry, decoration, marine products, and musical instruments. It is valued for its mechanical properties and aesthetic appeal, particularly its golden finish. Emac® offers a range of brass products under different product families like Novosuelo, Novocanto®, Novolistel®, Novojunta®, and Novosepara.
Mechanical Properties: Brass exhibits high ductility, good mechanical resistance, a tensile strength of 350 MPa, and high corrosion resistance. It has a compression resistance of 120 MPa and an elongation of 20%.
Physical Properties: Brass has a density of 8.4 g/cm³, is non-combustible, has antibacterial properties, and is recyclable. It can withstand temperatures from -148ºF to 392ºF (-100ºC to +200ºC).
Cleaning and Maintenance: Brass naturally tarnishes to a dull brown when exposed to air. Cleaning can be done using commercial products or natural acids like lemon and salt. Various products are available for maintaining and restoring brass, including polishers, shine recoverers, deoxidizers, and varnishes. Proper surface preparation and polishing techniques are essential for optimal results.

TECHNICAL FILE BRASS The brass is an copper and zinc alloy with multiple industrial applications. This material is easy to mechanize, engrave and melt. It is resistant to corrosion, saline conditions and is ductile, so it can be transformed through several processes. The Emac® profiles made of brass have been manufactured by extrusion, obtaining so a highly accurate dimensional tolerance. This guarantees its optimal appearance and functionality. Technical Features Mechanical Ductilidad Mechanical resistance Tensile strenght Corrosion resistance 100% in hot bending 30% in cold bending Physical Density Fire resistance M0 according to UNE 23-727-90 Non combustible against thermal action Antibacterial properties Working temperature Applications Brass is a material with multiple applications in industry. Its good properties physical-mechanical and its characteristic color are to be used in different applications, for example imitation jewelry, decoration articles, industrial products, pieces of marine use, musical instruments, etc. Emac® has a wide range of products made of brass in its catalog, which belong to different product families. The physical-mechanical properties of brass, provide it with the strenght required to be placed on floor and wall tiling indistinctly and offer an optimal protection of the installations. The golden finish of brass is a high added aesthetic value to our profiles, and brings elegance and exclusivity to the environments where it is installed. The product families Novosuelo, Novocanto®, Novolistel® , Novojunta® y Novosepara, have products made of brass available.

TECHNICAL FILE BRASS Cleaning and maintenance The Brass, in a natural form, acquires a dull brown color when in contact with aire. To its cleaning there are several products in the market which can be used, even though sometimes can be cleaned with natural acid brushing with lemon and salt. Some of these products are: - Polishers: Maintain the brass brilliance. These products does not leave any smell in the hands and are easy to use. For its application, moisten a cloth with the product and brush the profile until the superficial discolored layer is removed. Then, use a dry cloth to a perfect...
