4260 For its 70th birthday, the French company Elipson had to conceive an exceptional product: the 4260, commercial version of the 42XX Concept shown in the last Las Vegas CES, is born. Inspired by the design of the famous 4050 model from the seventies, which was used in the French radio and TV studios, this speaker is the flagship of Elipson products. Pioneer of the spherical speaker for the last 50 years, Elipson has often been copied, but never equalled. Elipson is the only company to totally master this process, using internal patented resonators. The 4260 will seduce you by its neutral and faithful sound reproduction, the respect of recordings remains indeed one of the strongest value of the brand. The 4260 is a concentration of the last 70 years of the Elipson know-how. The subwoofer rigidity was obtained using the most sophisticated measurement and simulation tools, resulting in internal reinforcements where every parameter is optimized. The chassis of the 38 cm speaker was also stabilized by adding an open frame, applying pressure through vibration absorbers. An internal resonator neutralizes the main resonance frequency of the box. A special treatment has been applied to the vent in order to reduce distortion in the 3rd harmonic. Its large size avoids airflow noises. The up to 75 mm thick box is totally inert and vibration free. The sphere has an internal resonator (Elipson patent) and benefits from the latest technological improvements concerning materials. The tweeter is ideally situated as far as the acoustic phasing is concerned. The damping material eliminates stationary waves. The filter, major part, has been adjusted with the biggest care, using the best components on the market.
