Since Lancaster, PA was known as the gateway city for Western migration in the U.S, G.W. Dodge relocated his business here in 1876, and renamed it The Lancaster Cork Company. 1946 DODGE CORK COMPANY Under A.B. Dodge’s guidance, Dodge Cork was the first company in the world to develop the production of composition cork cylinders, cork and rubber, and vinyl coated cork floor tile. In 1876, G.W. relocated the company to Lancaster, PA and incorporated as “the Lancaster Cork Company.” George W. Dodge and his son, Byron G. Dodge, grew the business to become the second largest cork company in the United States. In 1895, Thomas Artmstrong convinced Byron G. It can be used as cork boards, bulletin boards, pin-up boards or wall coverings and is available in rolls. Composition cork may also be painted, stained, or silk-screened. Cork underlayment has the unique ability to insulate against heat or cold, as well as vibration and electricity. Cork underlayment comes standard in 48” rolls with a thickness of 1/8” and 1/4”. Composition Cork comes standard in 48” or 36” wall cork rolls with a 1/8” or 1/4” thickness.
