In 1876, G.W. relocated the company to Lancaster, PA and incorporated as “the Lancaster Cork Company.” George W. Dodge and his son, Byron G. Dodge, grew the business to become the second largest cork company in the United States. In 1895, Thomas Artmstrong convinced Byron G. WALL CORK, express yourself. CORK UNDERLAYMENT, unbeatable insulation. Wall Cork is made from cork granules and bonded by resin. It can be used as cork boards, bulletin boards, pin-up boards or wall coverings and is available in rolls. Composition cork may also be painted, stained, or silk-screened. Cork underlayment has the unique ability to insulate against heat or cold, as well as vibration and electricity. Cork underlayment comes standard in 48” rolls with a thickness of 1/8” and 1/4”.
