Introduction
Ecofleece insulation is a high-quality product, and its performance is highly dependent on the quality of installation. For further assistance, contact Ecofleece customer support.
Storage and Safety
Store Ecofleece under cover, on end to avoid compression, and protect from moisture, dirt, and dust. While protective clothing is not essential, it is recommended, especially for retrofit installations.
Pre-Installation Checks
  • Ensure areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Check framing moisture content is 20% or less.
  • Verify wall wrap, building paper, or roof underlay is undamaged.
  • Ensure exterior cladding is weather-tight and thermal breaks are installed for steel framing.
Tools Required
Tape measure, sharp scissors or rotary cutter, staple gun, ladder, and a light for ceiling installations.
Installation Instructions
  • Opening the Pack: Split the plastic wrapping lengthwise to allow the insulation to expand.
  • Cutting to Size: Cut slightly oversized for a tight fit. Use scissors or a sharp knife for trimming.
  • General Instructions: Maintain clearances around metal flues and recessed lights. Follow NZS 4246 standards.
Wall Installation
  1. Measure, tear, and cut the insulation slightly oversized.
  2. Fit snugly between framing without gaps.
  3. Staple to prevent slumping, with additional support if necessary.
Ceiling Installation
  1. Unroll and feed through the ceiling hatch.
  2. Lay perpendicular to joists, ensuring no gaps or sagging.
  3. For double layering, fit the first layer between joists and the second layer at right angles.
Mid-Floor Installation
Roll out under the mid-floor, fit between joists, and secure with staples every 150mm.
Compliance and Recommendations
Follow manufacturer instructions and NZS 4246 standards. Eco Insulation provides trained installers to ensure compliance.
